Well, I consider myself as one of the passionate small to medium business owners. So, let me tell you why it's great to be a small business owner and why I chose to start small.

1. Freedom
First things first. When you start small you have the freedom to chose how you want to work and operate your business.
 2. Customer experience 
Because you are small, you are able to build relationships with your current customers and let me tell you .. now I'm growing and the size of my customers that repeats their purchases are bigger but i still remember the first ones before three years because i had that ability to build relationships with the number of customers that i had that time.
3. No limits
You're not limited with certain visions or specific goals that you need to reach if you are a big company. When you are a big company, you are limited with your dreams because you have to save the current position that you have. As you are a small business, you can dream, try and make it happen. If you want to innovate, design, build relationships, etc. this the stage were you are free to explore and try.
4. Laws and taxes
Well, i know some countries now that offer licenses for home based businesses and my country is one of them and don't get me wrong, this is a very good step for every one in order to regulate those activities. What i mean is, if you're starting small and not sure whether you want to continue or not, you may explore that world as a small business without any taxes and employment laws because simply you are a small business.
5. Building knowledge and experience
I admit that in the four years that i have been working for my own business gave me a lot that i would never know if i just went for a regular job. When you start small you gain an incredible experience and knowledge of "how to grow" that will push you to be the best
