Ramadan is running and I was planning to post more but as you can see we all get busy during this month. Today I'm gonna put my thoughts shortly about three different ads of Ramadan 2017. Note that this is going to be my thoughts from marketing perspective. This is not an evaluation what so ever because If I would evaluate the ads I have to link it to their goals fro their campaigns. To make it short I'm gonna tell you some basic things that I noticed as a marketer while watching those Ads.

1. Zain


I believe that Zain is one of the leading companies when it comes to corporate social responsibilities campaigns. They choose a very sensitive yet a humanitarian and powerful message. To be honest, it means to me personally and I just cry every time I watch the begging of the Ad and then start smiling since it is positive. The content itself ( message and song lyrics ) is well planned and it feels that they put an effort to what the want to deliver. Since the Ad start with a story, it catches the audience's attention. Now moving to the target market for this Ad. I would say it's a peaceful message for everybody out there but I'm not sure what they thought about their target market as a specific thing that will make them measure their success later. Not forget to mention that they always stick to presenting their ( colors , symbols and commercial music or melody at the end ) which always a plus. To be honest this what makes it a Zain's ad because all of this mixture make you notice that this Zain's Ad.


2. DirectAid


I was searching for their previous ads and I think this is a very good step for them. I saw that they reached more than 1 million views which made me happy. Now the Ad I would say in the social side but it also directly present the company which spread the brand's awareness. I think this is a very good Ad in general and I hope that they keep on track. I strongly believe that this Ad will show great results in their donation's statistics.


3. NBK 

After I wrote the last post, I was thinking about the best way to create a corporate social responsibility campaign and for that I started reading some studies and fact about how people perceive those campaigns and I came across this survey fact sheet by Aflac. 

So basically, one of the main findings of this study is that millennials would rather support brands with strong corporate social responsibility initiatives than brands that are not. So if we want to follow this with an act, I think if your target market is Generation Y (millennials) then try to attract them by what they are interested in. That does not mean that any CSR campaign will work. You have to choose initiatives that they are concern about. Who are Millennials ?

I feel like I haven't been blogging for ages! I was working on different projects lately so I totally run out of time every time I put "blog post" in my schedule. Ramadan came and I also missed the pleasure to greet you guys (Ramadan Kareem).

So I will start putting my thoughts here in the blog in regarding of Ramadan ads. To be honest, I didn't have time to watch al of them but I saw quit few since most of them are shown on my monetized Youtube videos 🙈

Let's start with STC ad for Ramadan 2017. It's defiantly meant to be a corporate social responsibility campaign. I think it went for a good reason which is always a good thing for companies. I highly respect that they invested in a campaign that emphasize their brand image also. You can see that in the colors of objects that have been used in the ad. The color theme in the Ad makes it easy for people to recognize the brand identity. I feel this is the most thing that attracted me to the ad but as a Marketer of course because I always say if you want to make something good to your company, please invest on an corporate social responsibility campaign that emphasize your brand or don't do it at all.

To be honest, I have been hearing some opinions about the song. Some people thought that repeating the same word over and over again was boring. It might be, but at the end of the day I think the words meant a lot. So that means they may improve on that side in their future ads.

That was my honest thoughts about that ad. I just wrote the things that I thought about when I saw it as a marketer and I didn't went deep with it. Hope you enjoyed =)

When you launch a new product, you probably want the maxim time for your product to be alive. However, your product isn't going to sell forever! If you don't already know, products have a life cycle that we need to plan for in advance.

Planning doesn't only apply for new businesses and startups. As a business owner you have to plan in order to achieve your goals. In my post today I will discuss the reasons why you should plan and consider that even if you already started your business.

What I'm encouraging you to do is definitely not what we call "Business plan" with all its formal sections that it happens that we do it once and then keep it in a file on the shelf. I'm trying to introduce to you a new concept that each business owner should adopt which is "planning" in the simple way that this word means. Planning in general is a process where you manage your steps toward your end goal. That's exactly what I wanted you to do when I shared "The small business planner". Having such planner and planning habit will manage you business related activities.

Now why do you think planning is important for businesses ? .. Actually, planning will help you with making sure that you're applying your strategy that you wanted to focus on in your business. It will help with doing the right things to keep going in the right track. It will also help you relate your tactics to your overall strategy. What happens is that when we move to the tactics we forgot about the strategy. An example of that could be designing a product that does not match the definition strategy that we chose to follow in our business. The same apply on other tactics related decisions such as pricing and promotion.

Planning will help you with setting tasks and responsibilities in order to achieve your success. You will be able to set launching dates, deadlines etc.. Sometimes you will need to prioritize just because we as business owners will face times that we can't do every thing. we just need to do the thing that will go with our strategy. Planning will give you that confidence to decide what to do in urgent situations. Finally, I just want you to know that planning will help you grow and get results. That what I believe in and it make sense why my business is all about planners Lol ;p

ليش تظنون التخطيط مهم لمشروعكم ؟ التخطيط راح يخليكم تتبعون الاستراتيجة الي ماشيين عليها في جميع جوانب مشروعكم بدون ما تحيدون عنها. التخطيط راح يساعدكم بربط التكتيكات التسويقية بالاستراتيجية الي ماشيين عليها أيضاً. الي يصير عادةً في المشاريع التجارية بإنه مجرد ما نخلص من وضع الاستراتيجية وننتقل للتكتيكات للأسف ننسى الاستراتيجية أو ما نعرف نربطها ببعض. مثال بسيط هو تصميم منتج ما يتطابق مع الاستراتيجية الي ماشي عليها المشروع. ونفس الشي ينطبق على القرارات الأخرى مثل التسعير والترويج.

التخطيط راح يساعدكم في وضع المسئوليات والمهام الي تحتاجون تسوونها عشان توصلون للنجاح الي تبونه. راح تكونون قادرين على إنكم تحددون مواعيد وتواريخ مهمة .. راح يساعدكم التخطيط أيضاً في وضع الأولويات. ببساطة التخطيط راح يعطيكم الثقة في مسألة اتخاذ القرارات لأنه كل شي واضح لكم ومكتوب ومخطط له. وأخيراً أتوقع عرفتوا إني أؤمن جداً بفعالية التخطيط وشفت نتايجه علي أنا شخصياً  .. عشان جذي تخصصت بصنع المنظمات في بزنزي الخاص ;p

Can I stress "understand your target market" enough through a new blog post today ? Why not! Today I'm going to explain the importance of getting insights about your target market which basically are your future or current customers if you already have a business. In order for you to start your business, you have to fully understand your customer. You have to know their needs and wants, and I have been talking about this in the last two posts. You can do this through an effective marketing information system that will generate an actionable customer insights. Now you can also use marketing research tools and speaking about that .. I think that all those fancy words that I just talked about need to be explained in steps in order for those who own a small business to start following the right path toward a successful business. Marketing research is definitely applicable in small businesses. You don't have to put a huge budget for that if you don't have access to it. As a small business owner you can get your customer's insights through informal surveys on small samples or observation. I have been doing this since I started my business to gain customer insights and that worked for me and I saw great results since I started doing this. Trust me, giving this a little more effort with a clear goal you will find similar results.

Whenever I start to write a post I say "Hopefully this will not be the last post for this month". I'm challenging myself to write more but I don't want to write anything. I would rather be late with my posts as long as they have a valuable content.

Today, I'm really happy to share with you the "Small Business Planner" that I created for those who want to start their own small business. This planner is dedicated to those who don't have background about Business & Marketing. I tried to simplify the plan sheets for you guys so hopefully you will benefit from them.

As you start planning for your business please note that this is not a detailed business plan. Business plans are made for different purposes. Some of them were made for the seek of finding an investor, some were written for a bank loan etc..

This is a "Small Business Planner" that you can use for your own self! That will help you put your starting plan on a paper so that you can move forward toward success. Take your time and think while planning. Filling those sheets may take a while specially with your decisions you want to make sure that your steps are right.

في كل مرة أكتب تدوينة جديدة أقول إنشاءالله ما تكون آخر تدوينة لي هالشهر فقط لأني حابة أكتب أكثر بمدونتي وتكون بنشاط مستمر. أكيد أفضل أتأخر بتدويناتي ما دمت أنزل تدوينات بمحتوى مفيد.

اليوم أنا سعيدة بمشاركتي لـ "منظم مشروعي الصغير" الي حرصت إني أبسطه قدر المستطاع للأشخاص البعاد شوي عن هالمجال. حرصت إني أوظف دراستي للبزنز والتسويق خلال تصميمي لهذا المنظم. المنظم يتكون من أربعة صفحات مصممة خصيصا للمقبلين على البدء بمشروع تجاري صغير خاص بهم.

فقط أحب أنوه إنه خطة البزنز أو دراسة الجدوى عادة تكون مفصلة بشكل أكبر وتُكتب بشكل مختلف حسب السبب الي قاعدين نكتبها عشانه. بعض دراسات الجدوى تكتب للبحث عن ممول أو لقرض بنكي أو تمويل حكومي وغيره لكن الهدف من خطة البزنز الي صممتها لكم هي وضع خطة يمكن الالتزام فيها لبدء مشروع تجاري صغير ناجح.

تعبئة المنظم واتخاذ قرارات بشأن مشروعك راح ياخذ وقت وتفكير .. أتمنى لكم كل التوفيق
