I went  back to reading Marketing principles the other day and crossing the pricing headline, I thought that covering this topic in my blog will be helpful specially for those who are just starting out or for small business owners that wish to know more about how to price their products or services. Note that there are pricing strategies which are different that pricing tactics. Pricing strategies are meant to be consistent with your business mission and values. Those are used as a guide while setting prices. I will talk about pricing tactics in another post but let me introduce the strategies first. There are six common pricing strategies that I explained below.

So you have a product or a service in a highly competitive market? How you are going to succeed? First things first, let's highlight some of the beliefs that are common among people. I don't believe that offering an already existing product is a mistake. Actually you don't need to come up with a totally new to the world product to be successful. In fact, the chance that you're going you fail is high if you did not prepare well. If you decide to enter the market with a product that is known by people, the competition is high and you are struggling to survive among them, try to differentiate your product from your competitors.

As an option, you may create a unique angel. For example, you can offer a faster shipping option. Some of the small businesses can handle delivery on the same day as their unique angel. Think about your product carefully. See what other competitors are doing and create that angle.

The other option is to adjust your message clearly. For example, my message in my business is helping people organize their tasks and get closer to their goals. What is your message? Make it clear and easy for people to understand. Have a unique way to address your message.

Are you interested in starting a home business ? I started my home business when I was 18 years old while I was studying in my American University where I have been always busy with my homework , projects and reports. Nothing is impossible .. you can do it wether you're a student , a full job employee or even if you don't have anything to do other than starting a new business 😅

1. First things first .. choose the industry that you feel you will enjoy working in and search for an opportunity in that industry. After you decide on the business idea, grab a small business plan template and start thinking about your business while filling it out. Don't freak out because it will take days to figure out what you want to do and fill out this business plan.
2. After having plan that specify everything including your target market, your budget , your promoting techniques etc. , write all the tasks that you need to do before you start your business. For example, if you need to purchase an equipment, write this down and get it done.
3. Find motivation and support which means write down the reason why you want to start this business. Find the right people in your family that you can share your thoughts with and they can support you.
4. Make things professional and never neglect good customer service support such as having a good email address and prepare templates to contact customers. Have a business phone number. Work on a proper packaging because all those small things matter.
5. Share your story. I find that customers get attached to people behind any small business when they share their stories. Don't make them feel that you can't be reached and don't talk to them as robot. Build relationships that will help grow your business.

I know those steps are not a clear and simple actionable steps that you can do. Those are things that nobody told me before I started my business. I learned them and I swear by them because before four years I was in this spot where I wanted to start my own business so badly. I'm proud now that I own one of the leading Kuwaiti stationery and gifts corporations.

So I was thinking how to make my space better to be more productive when it comes to working from home. I worked on my home business space for a year , trying to find the best things that will work for me and here what I have for you today.

Working from home can be really stressful and eventually you will mess up your space. Before I share with you some tips that I personally follow, I want to highlight the importance of separating your business space from your "relaxing" area which can be your bedroom , your coach , next to your TV etc.

If you don't have the ability to dedicate a room for your business, then just have a corner where you can mentally feel that this is your productive area. For me I spend most of my day in my office room which is not in the same floor where is my bedroom. 😉

1. Organized
Try to find out the best way where you can be organized in everything even in your computer files. That will help increase your productivity.

2. Keep it simple
You want your space to be breathable and not very complicated. Don't put a lot of things in this space. Keep the things that you really want.

3. Weekends check
Check your space at the end of the week and throw all the unnecessary papers and stuff to minimize the load

4. Motivation
Having a source of motivation like huge posters with positive qoutes will help you stay motivated.

5. Its yours
Last but not least, don't try to copy other's offices. If you don't need a big desk then don't go and buy one. Put your needs in front your eyes and make your business space to be yours. I personally need a smaller desk but a huge table for my three huge printers and machines. So it's all up to you.

Finally, if you are taking your home business seriously then consider investing on your business space on the long run once you have the chance to do that. It will reflect on your performance. See you in my next post 🙈💕

Well, I consider myself as one of the passionate small to medium business owners. So, let me tell you why it's great to be a small business owner and why I chose to start small.

1. Freedom
First things first. When you start small you have the freedom to chose how you want to work and operate your business.
 2. Customer experience 
Because you are small, you are able to build relationships with your current customers and let me tell you .. now I'm growing and the size of my customers that repeats their purchases are bigger but i still remember the first ones before three years because i had that ability to build relationships with the number of customers that i had that time.
3. No limits
You're not limited with certain visions or specific goals that you need to reach if you are a big company. When you are a big company, you are limited with your dreams because you have to save the current position that you have. As you are a small business, you can dream, try and make it happen. If you want to innovate, design, build relationships, etc. this the stage were you are free to explore and try.
4. Laws and taxes
Well, i know some countries now that offer licenses for home based businesses and my country is one of them and don't get me wrong, this is a very good step for every one in order to regulate those activities. What i mean is, if you're starting small and not sure whether you want to continue or not, you may explore that world as a small business without any taxes and employment laws because simply you are a small business.
5. Building knowledge and experience
I admit that in the four years that i have been working for my own business gave me a lot that i would never know if i just went for a regular job. When you start small you gain an incredible experience and knowledge of "how to grow" that will push you to be the best

The seven secrets of master marketing

Ramadan is running and I was planning to post more but as you can see we all get busy during this month. Today I'm gonna put my thoughts shortly about three different ads of Ramadan 2017. Note that this is going to be my thoughts from marketing perspective. This is not an evaluation what so ever because If I would evaluate the ads I have to link it to their goals fro their campaigns. To make it short I'm gonna tell you some basic things that I noticed as a marketer while watching those Ads.

1. Zain


I believe that Zain is one of the leading companies when it comes to corporate social responsibilities campaigns. They choose a very sensitive yet a humanitarian and powerful message. To be honest, it means to me personally and I just cry every time I watch the begging of the Ad and then start smiling since it is positive. The content itself ( message and song lyrics ) is well planned and it feels that they put an effort to what the want to deliver. Since the Ad start with a story, it catches the audience's attention. Now moving to the target market for this Ad. I would say it's a peaceful message for everybody out there but I'm not sure what they thought about their target market as a specific thing that will make them measure their success later. Not forget to mention that they always stick to presenting their ( colors , symbols and commercial music or melody at the end ) which always a plus. To be honest this what makes it a Zain's ad because all of this mixture make you notice that this Zain's Ad.


2. DirectAid


I was searching for their previous ads and I think this is a very good step for them. I saw that they reached more than 1 million views which made me happy. Now the Ad I would say in the social side but it also directly present the company which spread the brand's awareness. I think this is a very good Ad in general and I hope that they keep on track. I strongly believe that this Ad will show great results in their donation's statistics.
